Awakening can happen in a flash!
And it can change you forever.
Awakening means finding spirituality.
Here’s the thing: Spirituality can mean different things to different people – sometimes it’s related to organised religion, a God or Deity. Sometimes it’s what people refer to as their ‘soul’ or ‘higher self’ and for others it’s a universal power – something ‘felt’ rather than seen.
What does spirituality mean to you?
Do you feel a bit of resistance to the word spirituality? If you do, then simply ask yourself:
- Where do I find meaning?
- How do I feel connected?
- How should I live?
This will help you define your spirituality for you! Because people who are connected to their spirituality are always looking for lessons – opportunities to learn and evolve – and they ‘trust’ that things work out – eventually – and that happiness, in whatever circumstance, is a choice.
Everyone has within them, the potential for self-realisation of a higher consciousness.
This is activated by exercising our own awareness – being mindful of the things playing out in life, looking for patterns, and thinking carefully about how we operate.
But, when we start to do this, we can start the awakening of the truth – spirituality.
…Eventually you’ll have a slow dawning or perhaps even an ‘A-ha’ moment and it suddenly makes sense why you are here (your purpose).
Your life doesn’t have to be big, glamorous or even famous – we all have a purpose. It is up to each of us to find it.
Life is a classroom…
Every single one of us is here to gain experience and become aware of that greater part of who we are, that higher consciousness. You see, to be fully awake and to truly discover who you are, there are some things that you have to put into practice.
A curious mindset is a must!
You have to look at life as an adventure and once you can reach a ‘light-heartedness’ about your process of discovery to find who you truly are, then this is where the magic begins, it can be rewarding, fun and an exciting experience!!
And then you need to embrace self-acceptance – this is the first step to embracing the differences we see in each other. Realising that we are each unique and always a ‘work-in-progress’. When you accept the fact that you are not perfect, then you start to give yourself a break and start to develop confidence. And, when you accept others in spite of their imperfections, then you show compassion and a sense of emotional maturity. Accepting things that you can’t change doesn’t make you less of a person, it strengthens you and helps you to walk away from situations that don’t serve you and seek experiences that do!
Fighting against the things that can’t be changed raises stress levels and its exhausting … What a way to spend your day!
Acceptance, on the other hand, allows you to make peace with yourself, and to see others as they truly are and still care about them in spite of their faults and shortcomings. There will always be circumstances that can’t be changed and when you accept these simply by saying ‘it is what it is …’ then you’ll find your power. You will be happier and enjoy less stress.
Awakening to the soul is a state of being…
The heart knows the truth, and it’s through the heart that we perceive our spirituality. When you open up your heart to spirituality, you start to see things in a different light. And you start to create this vibe, this energy starts to awaken the soul to its glory, living in this state of paradise. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes ‘sh** still happens’, but when you tap into a mindset of possibility and potential, then these moments almost feel like a test to see how you are going to respond and react. Will you choose your ‘same old’ paradigm of behaviour? Or… will you look with fresh eyes and choose to respond differently?
When you start to awaken spiritually, the divine force within you will start to push against the falseness within your consciousness. It will push against your untrue thoughts, your false images of self and others. And all other earthly reference points that you have accepted as YOU!
And this is when you discover who you truly are … your false images fall away along with the person you thought you were. You may just find that all of these philosophies that you’ve been adhering to just don’t work for you and you may feel some resistance and some fear of letting them go because they have been your security blanket for some time.
Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to throw out the old, because we’re never certain of what will take its place, but when you do – when you open yourself up to something ‘new’ – wonderful things can happen and you will find the true self.
You already are what you seek…
You don’t have to go very far to find your soul, you are already there! You have only separated yourself in consciousness from the soul because of confusion through identification with your mind, your emotions, your body and the material world.
The very thing that you are after, the very essence … is inside of you all the time.
Your soul is who you truly are … it’s more than your body, your thoughts, or your feelings. It is the highest aspect of yourself. The journey of your soul is to return to an awareness of oneself, and how do you do that? Tap into your spirituality! And then you will find true freedom…. The freedom to be you and live life YOUR way.
