When one side of a duality is created, the other side comes into existence simultaneously… which means that when one side is eliminated the other side ceases to exist concurrently.

Being both soft and strong is a combination very few people have mastered. But to create this dichotomy – holding two realities inside of you without ‘conflict’ is a big step towards accepting yourself and others.

Do you know the story of Debbie Ford?

Debbie Ford a very popular American self-empowerment and leadership coach who passed away in 2013. Debbie discovered that her greatness didn’t come from fixing herself. It didn’t come from eliminating parts of herself or burying them deep inside. Instead, it came from embracing herself – all of herself: the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ – ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ – ‘acceptable’ and ‘unacceptable’. The self of her dreams emerged the day she found out that there was gold hidden in her darkness, light hiding in her bad behaviour and power hidden in the traumas of her past.

Debbie realised that her job was not to get rid of all that she perceived to be ‘wrong’ nor ‘bad’ about herself but in fact the opposite was true. It was her job to take her most human self and transform into her most extraordinary self.

When she fell deeply in love with her flawed self, she was able to return to being a whole, happy, silly, loving, passionate and worthy woman. It was then she finally knew what true love really felt like, not a love that requires another human being but a love that can only be found by having a loving, trusting and respectful relationship with oneself. It was only then that she could experience a life beyond her wildest dreams.

Life is all about balance and harmony…

Balance is essential for the existence of systems in the Universe. However, total balance may be impossible in our current reality because systems are always moving away or towards the total balance point, just like the pendulum. These movements are needed to allow the experiences of polarity to manifest.

Our body and mind are also a system of the Universe. When it’s imbalanced, we may experience physical and mental problems.

Right now, the collective consciousness of our planet, which includes the global consciousness and its inhabitant’s consciousness, is very out of balance. But each person’s consciousness affects the collective consciousness; therefore, each person plays an important role for bringing balance back to the systems on our planet.

By understanding the law of balance and using it for the greatest good for humanity, we can change our current destructive path to a path of prosperity. In order for us to wake up and realise that we are all the same, we need to understand and live in harmony with this universal law of balance. And we will also have a better understanding of who we are at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

Simplicity and complexity need each other…

Throughout our lives we experience opposite aspects of our lives.  For example, the more we choose to explore one extreme, we then must experience its’ opposites.  The more we choose to explore one extreme, the further from the centre we move.  We then must experience its’ opposite in order to understand it.

In accordance with the law of balance if we experience a lifetime of wealth and riches, at some point in a subsequent lifetime we will need to experience poverty, which is the opposite. If we are a persecutor in one lifetime, we will need to experience being a victim in another lifetime, as that greater part of thy self will want us to have the experience, and to compensate for our prior behaviours.

Polarity tells us that to know white we must know black… to know and understand positive, we must know and understand negative. Each of us has unresolved issues and aspects within ourselves.  It is up to us to integrate the polarities in order to be able to live in balance.

There is no up without a down, a good without a bad, a success without a failure and so on… It’s a world of duality and dichotomy. Everything has a duality. We have female and male in us, we have positive and negative in us. Opposites are identical in nature, just like the Ying and Yang.

Master the art of balance…

It takes time and focus to forget about what you can’t control. So, instead focus on what is in your power of control and detach yourself from an outcome or expectation. Let the situation unfold and surprise yourself! Trust the process.

As long as you understand that there is good and evil, mind and body, real and imaginary, savage and civilised, among ourselves and others, well then… you are halfway there. The best way to really understand your dichotomy, is to be the ‘observer’ of your own environment because you attract people by the qualities you display. You keep them by the qualities you possess.

It’s all in the mind. You can transform your thoughts from hate to love, from fear to courage, from despair to joy, by consciously raising your vibrations. We can suppress and transform undesirable thoughts by concentrating on the opposite pole. We can’t have a left without a right, a good without a bad and so on… it is a world of duality.  However, these opposites have no absolutes, there is not one point where you can say one starts and the other begins, it is a scale range.

There are degrees of differences between the extremes or poles, but no absolutes. As Napoleon Hill says that with “Every adversity, every failure and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit.”

An understanding of this enables us to understand the duality, the polarity in everything and understand that instead of choosing one or other, the aim is to embrace both sides and to find balance when we can.
