What do you think is the number one thing that stands in the way of most people and their dreams?
Some of you may be thinking:
- Fear
- Doubt
- Confidence
- Lack of knowledge
- Belief
- Drive
- Inspiration
- Motivation
- Opportunity
- Money
When you first connected with your dream, your passion, your purpose, what was your initial feeling?
How did you lose sight of that feeling?
What distracted you from paving your path and going for it?
We sometimes lose sight of our initial dream; we get side tracked or distracted by external circumstances.
Let me explain how it all works… once you take that leap into the void, leave your job or make the decision to actually go after your dream, you are half-way there.
That’s the biggest hurdle that you will ever be faced with and then comes the opportunities… once you have made that big decision, things just start to present … I call that the opening.
Even the smallest achievements pave a way to great success
The doors opening to you creating a new life, you are paving your own road, making your own decisions and creating your journey.
During your journey you will be presented with lots of different emotions and it really depends on what you focus on, as to what will present, and if you are not clear about your dream, it will show form in many different ways.
You will encounter people and opportunities aligned to what you focus on; this at times can be very confusing.
In the beginning you may be faced with fear or doubt and sometimes desperation kicks in … or an explosion of emotion fills you with panic.
This is normal, this is fear of the unknown, this is the time that you have to look towards faith and not feed the fear. If you remain in the state of fear, you will be faced with distractions by other opportunities, partnerships or a job, taking you away from your initial dream.
Let your dreams be your wings
This is the number one thing that gets in the way of you and your dream, its not all the bad things that you are faced with, it is all the good things that present whether they are a good job, a good opportunity or a good thing taking you away from your initial dream.
Your dream is to live the life your heart desires, Kahil Gibran the author of ‘The Prophet’ explains how we all come into this world with our purpose in our heart. All we need to do is connect with it, focus on our heart and allow yourself to be driven by the passion in your heart. This is where you will find your success.
This takes courage and faith.
Courage is knowing what not to fear
Don’t focus on your fears, act towards your dream; keep focused on your dream every day!
By feeding your fear and doubt, this will create more clutter and heaviness in your heart. Action breeds confidence and courage, just keep working towards what feels right in your heart, don’t get stuck in your head, repeating negative thoughts and self-doubt.
Don’t get distracted by other temptations, overcome the temptations; don’t let the distractions drive YOU. Think about what it is that your are succumbing to.
It is normal to feel anxious and afraid at times when you are going through a life transition.
You can use fear to your advantage, the main thing to keep in mind is that what you focus on the most, is what you bring into your life. If you focus on what you fear, fear will grow. If you focus on your dream, your dream will grow and manifest.
Have a dream so clear that in your mind you have already achieved it
Be very clear about your dream, write it down and put it up on a wall where you can see it every day, so not to be taken away or distracted from your initial dream.
Every day focus on the positive feelings and stop feeding your mind with negative thoughts or fearful messages.
The more you focus on the positive emotions and connect to your heart centre, the more you release those feel-good endorphins in your brain.
Most of all have FAITH, if you need to believe it, when you see it, then think again… you need to believe it for it to manifest.
If you believe that you can live your dream, nothing will get in your way!!
Fear will not present.
‘The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and to believe that it is actually possible’ – Joel Brown
